There are only two ways to live your life. One is as if nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.

Albert Einstein

WELCOME TO MY WORLD

In the year 1977, just weeks before President Sadat of Egypt announced his peace mission to Jerusalem; I penned a single poem, ‘Child of Peace.’ Perhaps, as a budding poet, I sensed the olive branch fluttering. However, after writing that verse, I remained silent for twenty-five years. Then, I awoke, as if from a dream, and began to write prolifically based on the promise of peace placed on my pen in the seventies. This included a detailed journal, in which suppressed memories surfaced, relating to unimaginable abuse in a childhood separated from my parents. My vision for the New Era intensified; the longing ‘for a world free of violence, bloodshed, perversion and greed.’ Since 2003, I have shared my aspirations and poetry with my friends.

Song of the Week
Ein li Erez - Kaila Shabat
00:0000:00
I have no other country

I have no other country

even if my land is aflame

Just a word in Hebrew

pierces my veins and my soul -

with a painful body, with a hungry heart

Here is my home.

I will not stay silent

because my country has changed her face

I will not give up reminding her

And sing in her ears

until she will open her eyes.

I have no other country

until she will renew her glorious days

until she will open her eyes.

with a painful body, with a hungry heart

Here is my home.

Lyrics:   Ehud Manor

Music:   Corine Alal
